Shane Hoeber

Discipline: Physiatry

Dr. Hoeber obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction from the University of Alberta in 2009 and then went on to complete his Medical Degree in 2013. Upon completing medical school, he entered specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Alberta which he successfully completed in 2018 resulting in him becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.

Throughout his training, Dr. Hoeber pursued further certification in neuromuscular medicine and nerve testing to become a CSCN Diplomate. He has also successfully obtained his Canadian Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM) Diploma demonstrating excellence in the field of Sport Medicine. To gain special competency in Fluoroscopic (X-ray) and Ultrasound guided procedures, Dr. Hoeber has independently undergone further advanced training. He is currently a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Hoeber’s clinical interests include diagnosing and treating various musculoskeletal conditions, regenerative medicine, interventional physiatry, and sport medicine. He has a keen interest in medical student and resident education and believes in a multi-disciplinary model of care. Dr. Hoeber is currently a team physician with both the NAIT Ooks and University of Alberta Golden Bears Men’s Hockey Teams.
